Rewind & Relive It: 5 Exciting Moments from Nitro Circus 2024
Never-before-seen tricks, friendly rivalries, and a whole lot of heart-pounding action; Nitro Circus 2024 certainly didn’t disappoint.
Before diving into the excitement to come in 2025, relive the thrills of last season with the help of this recap.
1. Brady Baker’s 720 Triple Whip to Bar Spin
While Nitro Circus 2024 was full of world-first stunts, Brady Baker landed one of the season’s most jaw-dropping in Hartford, CT: a 720 triple whip to bar spin. The move is so complex — a mind-boggling combination of multiple tricks — that only a seasoned BMX pro like Baker could nail it.
Here’s how it went: in mid-air, Baker’s body did a complete two full rotations (for a total of 720°). During those rotations, he spun his bike underneath him three times and then spun just his handlebars before sticking the landing.
Not only did the feat earn Baker some well-deserved cheers from the crowd, but he also received the Busch Trick of the Night accolade.
2. Kaden Stone’s “The Dubby”
For years, BMX rider Kaden “Dubby” Stone tried to perfect one of his toughest tricks yet: a double cash roll. As the name suggests, the move marries a cash roll (i.e., a backflip with a quarter rotation) with two full spins of the bike on its axis.
Despite trying to land the trick in private training and at the X Games, the trick kept evading Stone until Nitro Circus 2024.
It was here that he performed the work so perfectly that it looked like he’d been doing it for years. It was such a major achievement for Stone that he even coined a title for it: The Dubby, naming it after his own nickname and BMX alias.
3. Beaver Fleming’s Miracle Whip
Professional skateboarder, Beaver Fleming, looked just like a video game character brought to life when he successfully executed the Miracle Whip at Nitro Circus last year.
The Miracle Whip is also known as a backflip Tomahawk: after getting air, the athlete holds their board over their head while completing a full rotation.
As Fleming barreled down the Giganta Ramp (Nitro Circus’ 50-foot ramp), no one knew exactly what to expect. But what he delivered defied all expectations. The crowd, commentators, and Fleming himself roared with excitement as he landed the world’s first Miracle Whip.
But where did the inspiration for the trick come from? None other than a video game.
Speaking to the camera after the trick, Fleming said: “That was the Miracle Whip, straight out of Skate 3. Video game to real life. Yeehaw, hallelujah!”
4. Wheelz Winning MVC
At every Nitro Circus show, one athlete receives the MVC (most valuable circus member) award, a token of recognition for the best performance of the day. In 2024, one of the most deserving winners was WCMX rider Aaron “Wheelz” Fotheringham, who received the award in Tallahassee.
The trick that earned Wheelz the accolade was an absolute show-stopper: a double backflip 360 off the Giganta Ramp. While the move was outstanding, Wheelz was characteristically humble when receiving the award: “Appreciate you, guys. I really didn’t want to climb back up [that ramp].”
5. Ryan Williams’ Quintuple Tailwhip Backflip

Last but certainly not least, one of the standout stunts from last season came from none other than Ryan Williams.
One of these world-firsts took place at Nitro Circus 2024: a mind-blowing quintuple tailwhip backflip. As you may have guessed, the extremely complex trick combines a backflip with five spins of the bike’s frame.
Although Williams eventually stomped it, the trick took a huge amount of patience and perseverance. In a video posted to his YouTube channel, Williams shows that he failed the stunt several times before successfully completing it. It’s a reminder that, in the Nitro Circus world, grit is just as important as skill.

From Top Dogs to Up-and-Comers: 6 Key Players to Watch
Now that you know what to expect from Nitro Circus 2025, it’s time to familiarize yourself with who to expect. In this section, you’ll learn about some of the major players in the Nitro Circus world and what they bring to the table.
1. Travis Pastrana
As the founder of Nitro Circus, it’s only right that Travis Pastrana graces the top of this list.
A certified motorsport legend, Pastrana has competed in a variety of motorsport disciplines throughout his career, including FMX, rally racing, and NASCAR. Having appeared in multiple X Games, Pastrana has accumulated an impressive 17 medals (11 of which are gold).
But Pastrana isn’t just a competitor in the world of extreme sports; he’s an innovator. Not only did he found Nitro Circus, which was originally a sports collective before becoming a live event series, but he also created Nitrocross, an electrifying rallycross racing series.
Regardless of what challenge presents itself, Pastrana is committed to carving a path forward for future athletes, steered by one guiding principle: “The impossible is not impossible. It just hasn’t been done yet.”
Despite creating and running Nitro Circus, Pastrana still finds the time to perform at many of the live shows, often acting as the “ringleader” of the Nitro family.

2. Lyn-Z Pastrana
Travis isn’t the only Pastrana with an affinity for extreme sports; it’s a passion he shares with his wife, Lyn-Z.
A pioneer in women’s skateboarding, Lyn-Z has achieved some history-making feats throughout her career. She holds not one, not two, but three Summer X Games gold medals and was the first-ever female skateboarder to conquer the DC mega ramp. Pastrana also holds the title of first woman ever to successfully execute a 540 McTwist.
During Nitro Circus 2025, you can expect to see Pastrana shredding with her signature style, a unique blend of fearless and inspiring.
3. Ryan “R-Willy” Williams
Known as a boundary-pusher, BMX rider Ryan Williams doesn’t shy away from a challenge — and it’s safe to say that relentless perseverance has served him well.
To date, Williams has achieved over 20 world-first tricks and earned 11 X Games gold medals (three of which he won in a single week). He also boasts accolades from the Nitro World Games (NWG), winning both the BMX Best Tricks event and the Scooter event. The accomplishment made him the first-ever athlete to win two events and podium in two disciplines at the NWG.
Given that he’s responsible for some of the most viral tricks in history, you can expect Williams to deliver new, jaw-dropping stunts this Nitro Circus season.
4. Josh Sheehan
FMX legend Josh “Sheeny” Sheehan is another one to watch at Nitro Circus 2025. While he might appear as a typical, easy-going Aussie, Sheehan is as adrenaline-hungry as it gets. So much so that he’s been affectionately nicknamed the “Donnybrook Daredevil”.
That insatiable hunger is what’s driven him to achieve some of the most impressive accolades in extreme sports, including six X Games medals, three Nitro World Games medals, and a Red Bull X-Fighter championship.
But without a doubt, Sheehan’s most memorable moment was when he landed the world’s first triple backflip on a motocross bike in 2015.
5. Ellie Chew
Hailing from New Zealand, Ellie Chew is one of the most accomplished female riders in the BMX industry.
Chew got her first taste of the elite sports world when she competed in Olympic freestyle trials and at X Games in the United States. But it wasn’t until she joined the international Nitro Circus act in 2019 that she truly found her passion: show riding.
“It’s a progressive environment with confident ‘building’ people who aren’t comparing you like they do in competitions,” she said to Waikato Timesin 2023. “In a show, if you look good, you make everyone else look good.”
Beyond her talent, Chew is just as beloved for her positive outlook on the challenges of her sport and its bigger takeaways: “BMX has taught me a lot about success vs. failure and how ultimately, they are the same thing because you can’t have one without the other.”

6. Keefer Wilson
At just 18 years old, Keefer Wilson is one of the youngest players set to hit the ramp at this year’s Nitro Circus. But make no mistake: this up-and-coming Australian is already one of the most accomplished skateboarders of his generation.
At the age of 11, with only six months of experience under his belt, Wilson got invited to compete at X Games Sydney, making him the youngest person in history to do so. It was there that he caught the attention of Nitro Circus, later becoming part of the Nitro family.
But his remarkable achievements didn’t end there; aged 12, Wilson became the third Aussie to ever land a 900. He also remains the only Aussie in history to complete a body varial 900, which involves an extra 180-degree rotation.
With that said, the high of Wilson’s career to date came in 2024 when he represented Australia at the Paris Olympics, where he ultimately finished eighth.
“Just being out here is amazing, and I’m glad I landed a run to get me into the finals,” said Wilson at the time. “Unfortunately, in the final, it just didn’t come together. But I can’t believe where I’m at right now: in the Olympics at my first Games.”
