Nitro Circus Australia: A Brief Recap on All the Action

Ahead of the North American leg of the tour, Nitro Circus took the thrills Down Under. Across seven shows in seven cities and four states, the Nitro athletes didn’t shy away from jaw-dropping stunts, especially those who found themselves on home soil, like Ryan Williams and Jaie Toohey.

From the vibrant streets of Adelaide to the breathtaking beaches of Newcastle, these extreme professionals brought the action. And the Aussies ate it up. Nitro Circus 2025 attracted its largest-ever Australian audience, with over 20,000 people attending the Melbourne event alone.

After its final event in Sydney, Nitro Circus took to its website to thank its fans for an incredible turnout this season, and to tease all the high-octane action to come in the tour’s next leg.

What to Expect from Nitro Circus

Across all these events, you can expect showstopping spectacles unlike anything you’ve ever experienced.

First, there’s the incredible stunts. Think boards, bikes, and bodies soaring through the air, performing death-defying flips and chaotic twists. And it’s not just anybody performing these outlandish stunts; these are some of the top extreme athletes in the world, many of whom you’ll get to know better later in this article.

Then there’s the equipment, which brings the action to new heights (often literally). Some of the gear you can expect to see includes a near-50-foot Giganta ramp, cutting-edge FMX kickers, and even a ring of fire for athletes to jump through.

Plus, there are always explosive, pyro, and lighting special effects at every show, dialing the excitement and entertainment up even further.

Additional Entertainment & Experiences

In between performances, there will still be plenty of ways to stay busy. For example, many Nitro Circus sponsors will be on the ground, offering unique activities and branded activations. And Team Ignition will be one of them.

Known for creating 360-degree fan experiences, the Team Ignition activation makes you feel like you’re part of the action, not just watching from the sidelines. Here, you can expect to see interactive and immersive games, such as the crowd-favorite prize wheel, which could see you walk away with a free momento. Not to mention, there’s exclusive digital content and social media collaborations that allow you to share your Nitro memories with your followers.

Depending on the type of ticket you buy, you might even score access to exclusive spaces and events. VIP ticket holders, for instance, often gain early venue entry and access to exclusive lounges and food and drink vendors. Better yet, they typically include unforgettable extras like Q&As or meet-and-greets with the athletes or guided track walks around the Nitro Circus set.

The Living Legends: Key Players to Watch

Now that you have an idea of what to expect, it’s time to familiarize yourself with who you’ll be watching. While all the Nitro Circus athletes bring the action in spades, these are some of the major players to keep an eye on.

  • Ryan Williams (BMX and Scooter): Without a doubt, Ryan Williams is one to watch. A Nitro World Games (NWG) and X Games veteran, he’s one of the most accomplished and recognizable extreme athletes in the world. And he’s long made Nitro Circus live shows his personal playground, nailing multiple world firsts on the Nitro stage, including a scooter triple backflip and a scooter Free Willy.

  • Harry Bink (FMX): No stranger to the Nitro realm, Harry Bink made his first big splash in 2017 when he landed the world’s first frontflip rock solid. In the years since, Bink hasn’t slowed down at all. So far in 2025, he’s performed mind-bending stunts at Nitro Circus shows, including a double loop of doom and an FMX train. Odds are, he’ll have plenty more where that came from for the remaining events in North America.
  • Aaron “Wheelz” Fotheringham (WCMX): A trailblazer in the wheelchair motocross field, Wheelz is a boundary-pusher by nature. Keep your eye on this fearless performer; he’s known to pull out all the stops at Nitro Circus live shows. For example, it was on a Nitro ramp that he became the world’s first person to ever execute a wheelchair frontflip in 2016.

  • Andy Buckworth (BMX): After scoring a bronze medal as a rookie at the 2010 X Games Big Air, everyone knew Andy Buckworth was something special. And he’s lived up to that expectation, especially at Nitro Circus live shows. Over the years, Buckworth has nailed some of the gnarliest tricks in the event’s history, including his signature double frontflip no-hander. At this year’s Nitro Circus event in Newcastle, Buckworth teamed up with Jaie Toohey to deliver one of the most unforgettable moments: a tandem triple backflip.
  • Brady Baker (BMX): If there’s one thing Brady Baker loves to do, it’s make history. At X Games California 2023, he became the first-ever rookie to win both the BMX Dirt Elimination and the Dirt Final. These days, he can be seen hurtling down Nitro ramps and landing world firsts like the 720 triple whip to bar spin he nailed in 2024. Does Baker have more world firsts in store for the 2025 season? Only time will tell.

  • Aaliyah and Keefer Wilson (Skateboarding): Hailing from Australia, these young siblings are making their mark on the world of skateboarding. Despite only starting to skate during the 2020 lockdowns, Aaliyah and Keefer competed at the 2023 World Skateboarding Tour in Argentina at the ages of 17 and 16, respectively. Keefer even went on to represent Australia in skateboarding at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. These days, the two can be found tearing up the ramps at Nitro Circus — and sometimes posting their epic wipeouts on social media.
